POWER-GATE breakers are MOSFET-based unidirectional relays with an external hall effect current sensor. Application-specific parameters for inrush current, delays, timers, and logic are flashed to the integrated microcontroller that monitors the process. When the “breaking” setpoint is achieved, the device will “open” the circuit shutting down the load.
